In the report meeting the results of the socio-economic development of Gabala region in 2015 and the challenges ahead were discussed.

The report meeting was held on the outcomes of socio-economic development of Gabala region in 2015 and the upcoming challenges in 2016. First, participants of the event visited the Heydar Aliyev Park and laid flowers at the monument to National Leader. Then, in the foyer of the Congress Centre of Heydar Aliyev the viewing of stands, reflecting the socio-economic development, and an exhibition of products, manufactured in the region, was held. Opening the report meeting organized in the conference hall of the center, the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev gave a detailed report on the work done in 2015 in the socio-economic sphere in Gabala region. It was brought to attention that in 2015 in the region in the various branches of the economy the products in the amount of 203,517 thousands AZN were produced, gross output increased by 0.5% in industry, 5.6% in agriculture, 40.4 % in construction, 7.3% in transport, 1.97% in trade compared to the same period of last year. The share of the private sector in the total production of goods and provision of services amounted to 77%. During the year, at the industrial enterprises the average monthly nominal wage of 976 employees was 376 AZN. It was noted that during the reporting period, construction works are ongoing in the office buildings of the district department of the State Service of conscription, the District Court, Customs Academy, the regional organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, the district branch of "ASAN service" and the department of agriculture. During the year, works were completed on the reconstruction of asphalt pavement on city streets of Ismet Gaibov, Seyid Azim Shirvani and Musabekov. Also repair works on the 10-span reinforced concrete bridge of 324 linear meters length above the river Demiraparan are completed. The works to strengthen the shores of Demiraparanchay and Durujachay are done. In order to protect the city from mud waters, ensuring agricultural irrigation water, 1.115 thousand cubic meters of the riverbed were cleared of stones and sand, 6326 cubic meters of stone and concrete dam were repaired. The construction of buildings of high school No. 5 for 360 pupils was fully completed, and secondary school of Boyuk Pirali village was overhauled. Construction of 2 kindergartens also continues, each for 100 children. 685 houses in Tyuntyul village, and 128 houses in Engija village first applied natural gas. Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Republican Council of Elders, MP Fattah Heydarov and deputy Agiya Nakhchivanli told that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev always attached great importance to the development of regions of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev successfully carries out this policy. Speaking about the comprehensive development of the country today, it was noted that due to the instructions and recommendations of President Ilham Aliyev, in the Gabala region, as well as everywhere, works on the improvement and creation are also performed. Roads are repaired, the new education and health institutions are constructed, and the reconstruction of the electrical and gas facilities is carried out. All this serves to increase with each passing day the material welfare of the population, improvement of their social status and living conditions. Addressing the meeting, the representative of the Presidential Administration Rufat Aliyev spoke about the work done in 2015. At the meeting, the relevant decisions were adopted to ensure the implementation of the tasks ahead, an appeal was sent to the Head of State Mr. Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the meeting participants.In accordance with the guidelines and instructions of the President, the forthcoming tasks were analyzed. In conclusion, the group of people which distinguished themselves in the socio-economic development of the district was awarded diplomas and valuable gifts.
