The event called "The role and function of the media in the development of tourism" was held.

Natural resources of Azerbaijan create favorable conditions for the continuous expansion of the tourism business, transforming our country into a tourist region. Increasing number of tourism companies and hotels in the country in recent years, the development of the tourism sector at the level of world standards, are the indication of the work carried out in the direction of the integration into the world tourist market. Due to rich history and cultural heritage, a variety of attractions, Gabala is a big city with an international airport, well-developed infrastructure and a network of luxury hotels. In order to support the development of domestic tourism in Azerbaijan, Gabala hosted an event entitled "The role and function of the media in the development of tourism". "Qafqaz" Hotels, being one of the most modern and professional hotel brands, conducted and sponsored the event. At the event held with the participation of representatives of a number of mass media of Azerbaijan the detailed information was provided about the tourism potential of the region, and at the same time, about “the Qafqaz Group of Hotels”, which has 13 hotels throughout Azerbaijan, and 8 hotels in Gabala region in particular. Media representatives got acquainted with "Qafqaz Yengicə Thermal Hotel və SPA" Complex, "Qafqaz Sport Hotel" and "Tufandağ" Winter-Summer Tourism Holiday Complex. In the course of exploring the "Tufandağ" Winter-Summer Tourism Holiday Complex, which is interesting for skiing fans, journalists reported that the complex during the day can serve 3,000 visitors. It was brought to attention that for the last two years about 300 thousand tourists used the services of the complex. Tourists take the cable way to the peak of high mountains covered with snow, looking out over the Gabala city. Representatives of the media, in turn, made a number of proposals to attract more tourists in the complex. Media representatives left Gabala with pleasant impressions.
