A delegation from the Samarkand Region of Uzbekistan in Gabala.

On February 23 deputy heads of Samarkand region of Uzbekistan Shirali Yuldashev, Isroil Jabbarov and head of the Azerbaijani Diaspora organization in Uzbekistan over Samarkand region Adilagha Mirzayev travelled to Gabala in view of raising awareness. The delegation, greeted in the city of Gabala, first visited the Heydar Aliyev Park located in the center of the city, and laid flowers to the monument of the national leader, honoring the genius person. Then the official meeting of the delegation with the Head of the Region Executive Power Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev was held in the administrative building of the Gabala Region Executive Power. Head of the Region Executive Power informed the delegation about the history, economic situation, social and cultural life of the region. It was noted that the historical past of Gabala, as rich as the local nature, is one of the brightest pages in the history of Azerbaijan. Archaeological excavations conducted here today, discovering interesting pages of our history, show them around the world. It was noted that as a result of social and economic policy pursued by the President Ilham Aliyev, in addition to a tourist infrastructure booming here, the existing industrial enterprises play a crucial role in the growth of the economic development of this place, which has a picturesque beauty. It was noted that the scientific, educational, healthcare and industrial facilities constructed from year to year in Gabala, are the clear evidence of attention given to this region. It was brought to attention that the products manufactured in the region at the enterprises of the modern type, meeting the latest achievements of scientific and technological progress, are exported to many countries around the world. Saying that the region is rich with its magical beauty and hospitality, Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev spoke about the visits of heads of states and many famous people in the Gabala region, highlighting the holding of international events in Gabala. Then, taking the floor, a member of the delegation Isroil Jabbarov, first of all expressed his gratitude for the hospitality. The speaker gave detailed information about the Samarkand region, and noting the similarity of languages, cultures, customs and traditions of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, said that the buildings constructed here in the high architectural style, are pleasing the eye. Noting that the performances of musicians from Azerbaijan, within the traditionally held in Uzbekistan music festival called "Eastern melodies", always are met with enthusiasm, a corner dedicated to Azerbaijan was organized in the Afrasiab museum in Samarkand region, State Pedagogical University named after Nizami operates in Tashkent, the speaker evaluated all these as a clear example of the high level of relations between two countries. Noting that they have heard about the fact that Azerbaijan is known for its strong economy and rich culture, members of the delegation brought to the attention, that all this creates the preconditions for closer friendly relations and conduct of counter events between the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan and Gabala region of Azerbaijan. During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the administrative building of the Executive Power of the district, viewed the corner dedicated to Heydar Aliyev.
