The memory of victims of Khojaly genocide was honored.
The Gabala Region Cultural Center hosted commemoration event in connection with the twenty-fourth anniversary of the Khojali tragedy. The meeting was opened with the introductory speech by the head of the Gabala region Department of Culture and Tourism Nargila Gafarova. First of all, the event participants with a minute of silence honored the memory of our compatriots who died in Khojaly massacre. It was noted that besides the fact that Khojaly tragedy is another massacre against our people committed by Armenians in the twentieth century, it is also an integral part of the traditional policy of terror directed against the territorial integrity, state independence of Azerbaijan. In their speeches, the director of the Tourist Information Center Anar Maharramov, employee of the Culture Center Khayal Ganjimov and others have brought to the attention, that as a result of the unprecedented atrocities in Khojaly, 613 people were killed, hundreds of people were taken hostage, still unknown is the fate of 150 of them. It was noted that the memory of victims of Khojaly tragedy will always be highly honored, and our people will never accept the occupation of its lands. In conclusion, the event participants viewed the exhibition of paintings, reflecting the horrors of Khojaly, organized in the foyer of the Culture Center.
