Open Championship of Gabala region in taekwondo.
Gabala District Youth and Sports Department, together with the "Gabala" sports club held Open Championship of Gabala region in taekwondo among children and adolescents. The tournament was held in Gabala Olympic Sports Complex, 457 athletes took part in the composition of 36 teams from cities and districts of the republic. The main aim of the competition is to achieve the development of taekwondo in the country, to develop the experience of participation in competitions and skills among young athletes, to establish the composition of the national team of the region on taekwondo. At the opening ceremony of the tournament Head of the Region Youth and Sports Department Fakhri Soltanov and coordinator of the martial arts of the "Gabala" sports club Sabuhi Garayev, speaking about the state care shown to the sport and the athletes in the country, wished the athletes success. After the opening ceremony, the field has been made available to athletes who join the fight for the championship. The boys and girls had intense struggle in the competitions. Competitions were held in accordance with existing international rules. In conclusion of the Open tournament of Gabala region in taekwondo, the athletes who won in each weight category (taking I, II, III places), were awarded with diplomas and medals.
