An exhibition on the subject of "Multiculturalism and Azerbaijan" was organized.
The Central Library of Gabala region hosted an exhibition on the subject of "Multiculturalism and Azerbaijan". Speakers at the event told about the conditions created for minor nations living in Azerbaijan, as well as those who profess Islam and other religions. It has been brought to the attention, that multiculturalism is the coexistence of different cultures, and mutual respect for peoples of different culture and world view of each other. Azerbaijan in this matter has always been an exemplary country. For centuries our people have created the conditions for harmony in society. It was noted that the declaration of 2016 in Azerbaijan "Year of Multiculturalism" as a whole once again demonstrates the historical culture of our people. Then exhibition was watched. The exhibition reflected the demonstration of pictures, books, magazines, reference books about the culture, customs and traditions, lifestyle, kitchen of minor nations living in Gabala region. The event participants were informed that Udi and Lezgins make up the majority of the minor nations living in Gabala. Udi people living in Nij settlement are one of 26 minor nations that existed in the territory of the ancient state of Caucasian Albania. The ancient Albanian "Chotari" church of Udi, being registered by the state in 2003, has been overhauled. In Nij settlement, which is considered a small model of tolerance, there are two mosques. Lezgins live mainly in the villages of Gamarvan, Laza, Amirvan, Yenikend, Sirt Engija, Bilikh, Zergerli, Dizahly and Yeni Dizahly.
