March 31st - Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
Heydar Aliyev Center of Gabala region hosted an event in connection with the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis - March 31st. The event was attended by members of the Center and the teachers and students of Gabala city secondary school No. 4. The event, organized at the round table was opened with commemoration of Genocide victims with a minute of silence. Opening the event with the introductory speech, Deputy Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center K.Gasimova spoke about the essence of this day, the grave consequences of the genocide policy carried out by Armenia against Azerbaijanis throughout history. It was noted that at different times, the genocide policy was carried out by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in various forms. Speaker said about the need to expose the insidious policy of Armenia based on historical facts and bring the truth to the world community. Then speakers evaluated acts of genocide committed by Armenian nationalists against the Azerbaijani people, as the tragic pages of our history, noted that as a result of the massacre hundreds of thousands of our compatriots were killed, subjected to terror and violence, were deported from their native lands, and this aggressive policy continues purposefully even now. Speakers stressed that with the Decree of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev on March 26, 1998 the genocide of Azerbaijanis has been given the true legal and political assessment, highlighted the work and activities carried out under the supervision of the Head of State Mr. Ilham Aliyev in the direction of bringing to the attention of international community the truth about the crimes committed by Armenians against our people. At the conclusion of the event a documentary film about the genocide of 31 March was shown.
