Gabala District Open Tournament in judo was held.
Gabala District Youth and Sports Department, together with the "Gabala" Sports Club held the Gabala District Open tournament in Judo among juniors. 215 athletes and 15 teams from the cities and regions of the Republic took part in the tournament, held in Gabala Olympic Sports Complex. The main purpose of the competition in judo is to achieve the development of judo in the country, to develop competition experience and skill in children and adolescents, to compose the national judo team of the district. Participating in the opening ceremony Head of the Youth and Sports Department Fakhri Soltanov and coordinator of the "Gabala" sports club in martial arts Sabuhi Garayev wished the athletes success. After the opening ceremony, the field has been made available to judoists born in 2003-2004 and 2005-2006, which will come into the fight for the championship in two age groups. In the competition boys born in 2003-2004 have been fighting in the weight category of 30 kg, 34 kg, 38 kg, 42 kg, 46 kg, 50 kg, +50 kg, and born in 2005-2006 in the weight categories of 24 kg, 27 kg, 30 kg, 34 kg, 38 kg, 42 kg and + 42 kg. Competitions were held in accordance with existing International rules. As a result of the Gabala District Open tournament in judo on the number of medals in the 2003-2004 age group Specialized Olympic Reserve Children and Youth Sports School No.13 was awarded I place, Tahsil Republican Sports Center - II place and the team of Gabala region - III place. And in the 2005-2006 age group team of Gabala region was awarded the I place, Tahsil Republican Sports Center - II place and Specialized Olympic Reserve Children and Youth Sports School No.13 - III place. Athletes winning (ranked I, II, III place) in each age group were awarded medals and diplomas.
