Nohurgishlag – Tuntul – Yengija highway of the district under major repair.
Nohurgishlag – Tuntul – Yengija highway of the region is under major repair. The length of the two-lane highway is 11 km, width 5 m and the width of its roadbed ranges from 7 m to 10 m depending on the areas. The width of the roadway has been expanded till 6 m in the required areas within the framework of the works done. The existing shoulders have been fixed on both directions and new shoulders have been set where required.During major repair, deformed parts of the roadway have been dislocated and re-fixed by pouring carbonate-structured material. Upper layer of the old asphalt-concrete surfacing has been scoured and carried away and the roadway has been prepared for paving new asphalt-concrete surfacing. For the time being works of leveling and paving wear layers are being implemented along the highway. Generally, new asphalt-concrete surfacing is planned to be paved to more than 55 thousand square meter of the road.During the works done water pipes, which were deemed for water transmission under the highway and damaged, have been replaced with new ones and new water passage has been constructed. Road signs will be set up where necessary in order to regulate the movement of vehicles and traffic lines and road mark lines will be drawn. Basic repair of the highway will lead to the development of tourism and agriculture in the region. Furthermore, unrestricted access to the Garamaryam-Ismayilli-Shaki highway will be provided by smoothing the movement of nearly 7 thousand people of 3 settlements of Gabala district, as well as people will be able to easily carry their product to the city center.
