The competitions of the International Grand Prix for Olympic shooting started in Gabala.
The competitions of the International Grand Prix for Olympic shooting, dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, started in Gabala region. In the international competitions, held in the trap shooting and archery complex, located in the Bum village, was attended by 73 athletes from 9 countries. According to the schedule of International Shooting Sport Federation, this competition is traditionally held every year since 2014, it is part of a series of the most important competitions after the world and European championships. Competitions of the International Grand Prix held with the organizational support of "Gabala" Shooting Club, with the support of the National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Shooting Federation of Azerbaijan, will last until 16 May. In the tournament, along with our country, athletes from Turkey, Georgia, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Finland, Qatar and the UAE are competing. Azerbaijan at this prestigious tournament is represented by 26 athletes. The competitions of Grand Prix are attended by famous athletes, who won the license for the Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. This competition is considered to be another test on the eve of the Olympic competition.
