In recent years, interest in reading, books increased. Each year, the number of readers of the Gabala district central library and its branches is growing, among the readers you can see people of different age. On May 6, 2016 in Heydar Aliyev Park on the occasion of 93 anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev the book festival was held. Initially, participants of the event laid flowers at the monument of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The event, which was attended by the region public, active readers and other guests, opened an exhibition of books on various topics, at the same time, an exhibition of works of hand crafts masters was opened. Opening the event with the introductory speech, the Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Gabala region Nargila Gafarova talked about values, the importance of the book. In their speeches, the employee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Kamala Alyarova, responsible employee of the Executive Power of Gabala region Azer Shirinov noted the importance of the event and stressed that the book is an inexhaustible wealth. Within the artistic part of the event, the poems dedicated to the book and the homeland were sounded by young readers, the composition was demonstrated.
