On May 15, a trilateral meeting of the Ministers of Defense of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia was held in Gabala. First of all, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of National Defense of Turkey Ismet Yilmaz and the Minister of Defence of Georgia, Ms. Tinatin Khidasheli visited the Alley of Martyrs in the Gabala city to pay tribute to the sons of the homeland who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our country's territorial integrity, laid flowers to the memorial complex "Eternal Flame". Afterwards, guests respectfully honored the memory of Heydar Aliyev, laying flowers to his monument. Then, at the Congress Center of Heydar Aliyev in Gabala, meeting of defense ministers started in the one-on-one format. Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov met with the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Ismet Yilmaz who is in our country with an official visit. At a meeting held with the participation of delegations, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, welcomed the guests and said that the military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey is based on the friendly and fraternal relations, these relations are on the rise, and they are useful for our countries. Ismet Yilmaz appreciated the role and importance of such events in strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Ministers also exchanged views on regional and other issues related to mutual cooperation. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Turkey to our country Ismail Alper Joshgun. At the same time, the Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov met with Georgian Defense Minister Mrs. Tinatin Khidasheli, who is with an official visit in our country. At the meeting held with the participation of delegations, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, welcomed the guests in the ancient land of Azerbaijan - Gabala, emphasized the strategic importance of the negotiations and meetings held between the two countries. Colonel-General, emphasized the development of the Azerbaijani-Georgian military cooperation rapidly, noted that these relations will be prolonged. Minister of Defense of Georgia, expressing satisfaction with her first visit to Gabala, thanked for the high level of hospitality. Then the sides exchanged views on military and political situation in the region and other issues of mutual interest.
