The delegation headed by the Mayor of Cannes, France, Mr. David Lisnard visited Gabala region in view of raising awareness. The delegation was met in the Gabala International Airport by the Head of the District Executive Power, Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev. Further, in the administrative building of the executive power a meeting of the delegation was organized with the Head of the REP. Here, the delegation was given detailed information on the various projects carried out within the framework of the historical, socio-economic development of the region, and modern tourism infrastructure set up in the region. The information provided about the historical and cultural monuments in the region, has created a good impression in the delegation. The Mayor of the city of Cannes, Mr. David Lisnard, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the hospitality, brought to the attention that has witnessed intense phase of development in the regions of the country, along with the capital - Baku city. As part of the visit, "the Charter on Cooperation" was to be signed in the near future between the French city of Cannes and Gabala region of Azerbaijan. During the visit, the delegation visited the "Congress Centre of Heydar Aliyev", viewed the exhibition of works of art organized in the Gabala Culture Center, arriving in the Nij settlement, got acquainted with the "Chotari" church. The Delegation noted that the preservation of cultural and religious monuments has a universal value that transcends political, cultural and religious differences. The delegation that got acquainted with the magnificent nature, the tourism infrastructure of the region, left Gabala region with pleasant impressions.
