June 23 is celebrated as the professional holiday of public servants in Azerbaijan. The professional holiday of public servants was established by Decree of the President Ilham Aliyev dated May 25, 2006. Taking into account the role of the public service in the creation of a democratic, legal and secular state, and the announcement by the General Assembly of the United Nations the June 23rd as the Public Service Day of the United Nations Organization, it was decided to declare this date as the day of the professional holiday of public servants in Azerbaijan. Strengthening of its authority on the international scene by Azerbaijan, today rapidly developing, started with the reforms carried out by the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the public administration system. Thanks to the determined pursuit of these reforms by President Ilham Aliyev, the power of our country is growing every day. Today, with full confidence we can say that a governance system was formed in our country meeting modern requirements, functions of all branches of government are precisely defined, the necessary institutions for the protection and realization of human rights and freedoms were created. One of the most important results of the reforms in the public service in Azerbaijan was the adoption of the Law "On public service" on July 21, 2000. This Law laid the foundation of formation of a unified state policy in the sphere of public service in Azerbaijan, the basic principles of personnel policy in this area, a place of public servants in the society, their rights and problems were defined. The number of public servants in Azerbaijan has been increasing every year, and it is connected with the creation of new management structures and the reorganization of some of the structures. The age structure of public servants in Azerbaijan is gradually rejuvenated, along with more experienced workers, a wide berth given to young people and it gives positive results. In our country, according to the presidential decrees, many public servants have been awarded the highest qualification degree, the Order "For Service to Motherland" of varying degrees, the medal "For distinction in public service" and "Honored public servant", established for public servants. On the basis of the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on awarding of public servants, signed on June 22, 2016, for the fruitful activity of the public service the medal "For distinction in public service" was awarded to the Head of the Department of Architecture and Construction of the Gabala Region Executive Power - the main architect Abdulkhaligov Tabriz Huseyn. On this occasion, on behalf of the staff of region executive power we congratulate Tabriz Abdulkhaligov, wish him long life, health and new successes in work.
