VIII Gabala International Music Festival was successfully completed.

On August 5, the VIII International Music Festival organized in Gabala by Heydar Aliyev Foundation was successfully completed. Captivating everybody with the picturesque nature, Gabala, collecting music lovers all the past week, gave them unforgettable moments. With its grandiosity festival won the deep respect of foreign and local musicians. In accordance with the program of the festival, brilliant works of Azerbaijani and foreign composers sounded on Gabala scene. Along with world-renowned musicians young performers also performed on the open-air stage and in the Chamber Hall of the festival. Here the classical and chamber music, our mughams were performed, an international piano competition was held. From 30 July to 5 August prominent musicians, art ensembles, soloists and conductors from Azerbaijan, Austria, Bulgaria, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, the USA, Italy, France, Spain, Israel, Lithuania and Cuba demonstrated their skills to the audience. The Ukrainian "Kyiv virtuosi" chamber orchestra performed at the closing ceremony of the festival. During the concert conducted by the art director of the festival, music director of the "Kyiv virtuosi" orchestra, the world-famous cellist Dmitry Yablonsky, the soloists were Italian student of the La Scala Academy Azer Rzazade (tenor), winner of several international competitions, the Italian singer Federico Lombardi (soprano), soloist of the German Nuremberg Opera Theatre Javid Samadov (baritone), a member of a number of international festivals, Arkady Shilkloper (trumpet) from Russia. The concert featured works by European composers G.Rossini, P.Mascagni, A.Shilkloper, R.Leoncavallo, V.A.Mozart and G.Bizet. The festival ended with the performance of the aria of Mardan from opera "Motherland" by G.Garayev and J.Hajiyev and "Azerbaijan" song by M. Magomayev. Excellent performances by famous musicians gave the audience some unforgettable moments and were greeted with applause.
