A conference of educators was held.

On September 7 Gabala hosted a conference of educators. First participants went to the monument to Great Leader, set in the heart of the city, and laid flowers. Further, in the auditorium of senior secondary school number 5 of Gabala city the conference started. Opening the event director of the Educational department of Gabala region Ogtay Hajiyev, said that in the past academic year in the district, 53 senior secondary schools, 12 secondary schools, 3 elementary schools operated. 2266 teachers were involved in training and education of 16087 students receiving education in these schools. District students successfully took part at the knowledge competitions of national level, the entrance exams to universities, the subject olympiads, sports tournaments. On the national subject olympiads Gabala students have won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals. As reported, this year in the district 1377 students received a certificate of general secondary course of study, including 14 children received honour certificates, and 1419 people received certificates of complete secondary course of study, 3 of them were awarded gold medals. This year 760 graduates of Gabala took part in the entrance examinations to the universities, of which 424 people have achieved success and became students. 36 students who enrolled in the higher education establishments, scored more than 600 points. During this year's exams among graduates of the district the highest result was received by the high school graduate of Mikhligovag village Shirinov Amil Rufat. He received 679 points in the exams and was admitted to the Baku Higher Oil School. As it was reported, before the new academic year full and minor repair and restoration works were carried out in schools. Schools were provided with all necessary equipment and textbooks. Considerable work has been done in the direction of provision students with textbooks, and replenishing the school library fund. In preparation for the new school year 65244 textbooks of 136 titles were granted to the district secondary schools. At the conference, attention was paid to the evaluation of teachers' work. Conferral of various honorary titles, medals and orders to teachers in accordance with the decree of President Ilham Aliyev have been regarded as a high assessment of educators of the Gabala region. In his speech at the conference, Head of the Department for the socio-political and humanitarian issues of DEP deputy chief Ataya Osmanova and responsible employee of the Ministry of Education Asker Guliyev spoke about the successful results of education reforms implemented in our country in recent years, the challenges faced by the educational community. Speakers appreciated the pursuit of excellence as a result of work done in the direction of improving the quality of education. They expressed gratitude to the students and teachers, who have merit in achieving these successes. At the conference the results of the last academic year were analyzed and the works coming in the new academic year were discussed. Then a group of students and teachers were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts. In conclusion, on behalf of the participants of the conference the text of the appeal addressed to the President Ilham Aliyev was read.
