The World Cup competitions in shooting ended in Gabala.
The World Cup competitions in Olympic shooting, which took place in trap shooting and archery complex in the Bum village of Gabala region, completed. The competition, held with the organizational support of the "Gabala" Shooting Club and Azerbaijan Shooting Federation, with the support of the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Youth and Sports was attended by 281 people from 27 countries, the athletes, both young men and women under the age of 21 years. On the last day of the competition, that is, September 22, the winners were known in trap shooting among young men. Our country was represented at these competitions by Alimirza Guliyev, Mirmomin Aghazade, Sabir Mehdizade, Elmar Sadigov, Ramil Aliyev, Vagif Mammadov. Competing with the strong athletes, our team members failed to win awards. Austrian athlete Jack Vallage won first place, and Italian athletes Simone Ambrosio and Matteo Marongiu second and third places, respectively. In the overall scoring of this competition, the teams of Italy, Austria, India took the I-III places, respectively. After the competition, the awarding ceremony of the athletes and teams, taking the first 3 places, was held. For the total number of medals at the World Cup the first place was taken by the Russian team with 25 medals, followed by the Indian athletes with 24 medals, and the third place was taken by Chinese shooters with 8 medals. Russian athletes won 12 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze medals.
