A zonal competition in freestyle wrestling among juniors took place.
With organizational support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the zonal competitions in wrestling, which is included in the program of VIII National Games of Sports Schools, took place among juniors born in 2004-2005. The aim of the competition is to develop wrestling in the country, to promote healthy lifestyle among children, and to develop and promote physical culture and sports in the regions of the country, as well as to improve sports skills of teenagers, prepare candidates for national teams and rationally use the Olympic Sports Complexes. The competition was attended by teams of youth sports schools, companies, clubs and the Olympic Sports Complexes. Competitions are of private nature. In the zonal stage of national championship fight in 16 weight categories was among 150 athletes from 17 cities and regions of our country. In conclusion of the competition wrestlers taken I, II and III places in each weight category won the license for the final stage to be held in Balakan region. Athletes representing Gabala region in the competition Amrah Shafiyev, Arzu Veysalov, Ravan Aliyarov and Ismail Aliyarov, taking the appropriate places, won the right to compete in the finals.
