A blood donation campaign was held.
In accordance with the "State Program on struggle against thalassemia for 2015-2020" the regular blood donation campaign was organized in Gabala. In order to assist people suffering from various blood diseases, the region public representatives took part in the humanitarian campaign under the slogan "Give blood, save a life" in Gabala Region Central Hospital. Within the campaign the staff of the Central Blood Bank of the Scientific-Research Institute of Hematology and Transfusiology named after B.Eyvazov primarily surveyed citizens who applied to donate blood. Blood was taken from 180 people who applied during a day for voluntary blood donation. The collected blood and medications made of it are used to treat patients with haemophilia and thalassemia, as well as other patients in need of blood.
