The works are being carried out to establish new hazelnut plantations.
In order to ensure the performance of the orders of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev on development of hazelnut growing, which is one of the agriculture areas with high export potential, the purposeful work is carried out on the establishment of new hazelnut orchards in Gabala region. Orders and recommendations given by the Head of State Ilham Aliyev, regarding the establishment of new hazelnut orchards in regions were met by Gabala residents with great interest. Following this order, the works on the study of existing capacity in connection with the establishment of new hazelnut orchards in the region started, as well as works on provision of agrotechnical tending to the trees by the specialists, taking control of hazelnut orchard of 3480 hectares in Gabala. For this purpose, a special head office was created. For over a month, in the towns and villages of the region, along with a broad educational work among the population, works are carried out on the mass planting of hazelnut saplings. This year the new hazelnut gardens were established on a plot of 660 hectares in the region, and currently work in this direction continues at an accelerated pace. With the assistance of region executive power, the residents of Bum and Nij settlements, Boyuk Amili, Mollashikhali, Solguja, Shafili, Kichik Amili, Zalam, Chukhur Gabala, Topbagh, Hazra, Mirzabayli, Tovla, Yemishanli, Bunud, Soltannukha, Mikhligovag, Tikanli, Zargarli and Dashja villages, clearing out of undergrowth the empty plots used by them and municipally owned, planted hazelnut saplings in the territory.
