A meeting was held in connection with "The twenty-seventh anniversary of the tragedy of January 20th" in Gabala Region Central Hospital. First of all, the memory of martyrs of the "Tragedy of January 20th" was honored with a moment of silence. Speaking at the meeting, the head physician of the Central Hospital Sabir Bayramov informed participants about the causes of the "Tragedy of January 20th", he spoke about the socio-political events of the time, which had generated this tragedy. It was noted that, in those tragic days the national leader Heydar Aliyev, who was putting freedom, honor and dignity of his country and people before all else, came to Azerbaijan Representation Office in Moscow and protested, and after coming to power gave legal and political assessment to this tragedy. Then, the speakers at the event spoke about the horrors of the tragedy, committed by the Soviet troops in Baku on the night of January 19th to 20th, 1990, called the bloody event the powerful page of heroic history and struggle for freedom of the Azerbaijani people.
