The Gabala postal branch held the ceremony of remembrance on the anniversary of "the tragedy of January 20th". First, participants of the meeting honoured with a minute of silence the cherished memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national independence of Azerbaijan people. The branch postmaster Rauf Karimov, who opened the meeting, informed in detail about the events of Bloody January of 1990. According to the speaker, the events of January 20th were not able to break the will of the people. On the contrary, this bloody tragedy has further strengthened Azerbaijan's wish to build an independent nation-state, and the country has steadily moved toward the triumph of this sacred path. Despite the tragedy of the January massacre in 1990, the will of the Azerbaijani people, the desire to fight for national freedom even more strengthened. The sons and daughter of the country, who died in that terrible night, wrote a bright page in the history of Azerbaijan, opened the way to the national freedom and independence of the people. Today, our people live in prosperity, free and happy life in a democratic state. All this we owe to the sons and daughters of our country, who sacrificed themselves in the name of protection of our lands and our prosperous future. It was noted that today our esteemed President Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor of the political course of genius person Heydar Aliyev, carries out important work in the direction of perpetuating the memory of martyrs of January 20, 1990, exalting their names, strengthening social protection of their families and children, growing state concern for the families of martyrs. Speakers at the meeting brought to attention that the Azerbaijani state and people will always honor the blessed memory of the martyrs of January 20, their deeds will never be erased from the memory of our people.
