A poetry competition was held dedicated to "The twenty-seventh anniversary of the tragedy of January 20th".
With organizational support of the Gabala region Department of Youth and Sports a poetry competition was held on the theme "Unforgettable Martyrs" among young people, dedicated to "the twenty-seventh anniversary of the tragedy of January 20th". The purpose of the competition is bringing to the public the heroic history, written by the people, the memory of whom will never be erased and is the sacred apex of martyrdom, the martyrs of bloody January tragedy, which became a heroic page in the history of the struggle for Azerbaijan's freedom and territorial integrity, as well as the development of artistic creativity potential of young people and adolescents. First, at the opening ceremony of the competition, the memory of martyrs was honored with the minute of silence. Head of the Department of Youth and Sports Fakhri Soltanov, Methodist of the Educational Department Aslan Shirazov, speaking of the purpose and objectives of the event, told the participants of the event in detail about the reasons, facts and realities of the "tragedy of January 20th", the socio-political events of the time, which generated this tragedy. The competition was attended by 40 students from different schools of the region. Students read poems dedicated to martyrs who gave their lives for our lands, national heroes and the theme of patriotism. In accordance with the regulations of the competition 1 person was awarded with I place, 2 people were awarded with II place, 3 people were awarded with III place. According to the results of the contest Aghayev Soltan Rakhman took I place, Masimov Orkhan Eldar and Yolchuyeva Gyulnur Elnur - II place, Rasulova Almaz Bahruz, Aghayeva Dilbar Yasar, Karimli Gulnaz Seyid - III place. The winners were awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts of the Department of Youth and Sports.
