In the report meeting the results of the socio-economic development of Gabala region in 2016 and the challenges ahead were discussed.

The report meeting was held on the outcomes of socio-economic development of Gabala region in 2016 and the upcoming challenges in 2017. First, participants of the event visited the Heydar Aliyev Park and laid flowers at the monument to National Leader. Then, in the foyer of the Gabala Culture Centre the viewing of stands, reflecting the socio-economic development, and an exhibition of products, manufactured in the region, was held. Opening the report meeting organized in the auditorium of the center, the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev gave a detailed report on the work done in 2016 in the socio-economic sphere in Gabala region. It was brought to attention that in 2016 in the region in the various branches of the economy the products in the amount of 203,736 thousands AZN were produced, gross output increased by 219.0 thousands AZN or 0.1% compared to the same period of last year. It was noted that in comparison with the corresponding period of last year, the gross industrial output rose by 2.978 thousands AZN or 12.9%, in agriculture by 5.746,0 thousands AZN or 9,4%, in transport by 57 thousands AZN or 1.6 %, in trade by 489 thousands AZN or 1.8%. During this period, gross output per capita totalled 1.951 AZN. In the region within a year the average nominal wage of 1.039 employees working at industrial enterprises amounted to 334 AZN. During the year, the volume of investments in fixed assets amounted to 80.016,4 thousands AZN, the volume of construction works amounted to 78.607,6 thousands AZN. From October 2003 to January 1, 2017, 15.065 new jobs were created in Gabala, 13.266 of which are permanent. The number of new jobs created in the reporting year amounted to 1.393. It was brought to attention that like every year, last year the construction and installation works and improvement works have been successfully implemented in the region. Thus, during the 2016 in Gabala region the construction works have been concluded in the administrative building of the Gabala Region Organization of NAP, the ski center and "Tufandağ" hotel, Gabala Park-Bulvar complex, on the 10-span reinforced concrete bridge of 324 linear meters length above the Demiraparan river, on the 1-span reinforced concrete bridge of 36 linear meters length above the Gamarvan river, Nohurgishlag-Tuntul-Yengija highway, in the administrative building of "ASAN service", kindergarten for 100 children, Chenot Palace Health Wellness hotel and sanatorium complex at Nohur lake, restaurant building on the site of "Yatmış Gözəl" cableway of "Tufandağ", these objects were put into operation. In addition, construction works were completed in the administrative building of Gabala Region Court and administrative and laboratory building of the Gabala Region Department of Agriculture, kindergarten of Soltannuha village was overhauled. In the last year remedial measures were carried out in 11 five-storey residential buildings on Mukhtar Abduyev street, major overhaul was carried out in the yard of five-storey buildings on the Heydar Aliyev Avenue, the 28 May and Vahid Gahramanov streets, on the street behind the City High School number 5. Construction works are continued in previously unfinished "Qafqaz Aqua Land" hotel, "Qafqaz Diamond Aquapark", the golf complex, the administrative building of the region department of the State Service for mobilization and conscription, the administrative building of the Prosecutor's Office of Gabala region, the administrative building of the Customs Academy, Gabala Professional school, on the site of the equestrian center and the reconstruction objects of the drinking water system and sewerage system of the Gabala city. At this point in the Gabala city, the works started on construction of the new carpet-weaving enterprise and roof replacement at 5 five-storey buildings on Mukhtar Abduyev street. Among the speakers at the meeting, the director of the Gabala Regional "ASAN service" Center Abdul Aliyev, director of the secondary school No. 2 of the Gabala city, regional representative of the Knowledge Fund Tarana Salimova, businessman Oktay Azizov, the head of the family farm Aydin Mirzaliyev and active youth representative Aynur Gadirova talked on the progress made in their fields. Then, speaking at the meeting, the Chairperson of the Republican Council of Elders, MP Fattah Heydarov told that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev always attached great importance to the development of regions of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev successfully carries out this policy. Speaking about the comprehensive development of the country today, it was noted that due to the instructions and recommendations of President Ilham Aliyev, in the Gabala region, as well as everywhere, works on the improvement and creation are also performed. Roads are repaired, the new education and health institutions are constructed, and the reconstruction of the electrical and gas facilities is carried out. All this serves to increase with each passing day the material welfare of the population, improvement of their social status and living conditions. Addressing the meeting, the representative of the Presidential Administration Rufat Aliyev spoke about the work done in 2016 and achievements. In accordance with the guidelines and instructions of the President, the forthcoming tasks were analyzed at the reporting meeting, the relevant decision was adopted to ensure the implementation of the tasks ahead, an appeal was sent to the Head of State Mr. Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the meeting participants. In conclusion, the group of people which distinguished themselves in the socio-economic development of the region was awarded honorary certificates and valuable gifts.
