The Gabala Vocational School hosted a meeting dedicated to 25th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy. At first, the blessed memory of the people who were killed in the Khojaly genocide was honored with a minute of silence. It was noted that the Khojaly genocide, which was committed on the night of February 25th to 26th, 1992, is one of the bloodiest tragedies in the history of mankind. In that evening, inscribed in the history of Azerbaijan with bloody letters, Armenian armed forces with the help of troops and armored vehicles of 366 motorized infantry regiment, deployed in the city of Khankendi since Soviet times, a significant part of the personnel of which was represented by Armenians, wiped out the ancient Khojaly town. It was brought to attention that the vandalism perpetrated by the Armenian aggressors will never be erased from memory. Thus, it was not only genocide against the Azerbaijani people, but also a bloody crime against humanity. Despite this, the Azerbaijan authorities of that time took no thorough action to give a political assessment of this terrible event, providing the world public with objective information about the massacre. Only after the return of Heydar Aliyev to power at the insistence of the people, this massacre was given legal and political assessment. In 1994, on the initiative of great leader Heydar Aliyev, the Azerbaijani parliament declared 26 February as the Day of the Khojaly genocide. At the meeting it was noted that Khojaly tragedy was the deadliest tragedy and part of the policy of ethnic cleansing of the twentieth century, and people, who in any way participated in these events, should be brought to justice. In conclusion, the students of the school performed the literary and art composition devoted to Khojaly genocide.
