A meeting titled "Monitoring of the implementation of the self-employment program" was held.
In connection with the execution of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated on April 7, 2016, a group of jobseekers and unemployed people in the Gabala and Ismailli regions was provided with assets (goods and materials) by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population within the self-employment program on March 13. To this end, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Matin Karimli, officials of the Gabala Region Executive Power, relevant structural subdivisions of the ministry, participants in the self-employment program and representatives of the local community took part in the event held in the assembly hall of the Gabala Cultural Center. During the meeting it was brought to the attention that the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated April 7, 2016 "On additional measures in the field of provision of self-employment of the population" allowed to expand further the scale of measures aimed at ensuring effective employment of labor resources in our country through the self-employment program. To this end, 6 million manats was allocated from the reserve fund of the President. Carrying out the Order, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population until April 1, 2016 identified persons registered as unemployed and seeking employment in employment agencies with the potential for self-employment and were involved in two-month courses in connection with the organization of business. In the training courses conducted by 136 trainers prepared with the participation of the head coach of the International Labor Organization, the participants received the necessary knowledge and skills in connection with the organization of business activities. Work is underway to ensure the organization of self-employment of unemployed and job-seekers, who have completed courses, whose business plans have been recognized as successful in the course of evaluation, according to their chosen economic activities. It was brought to the attention that 83.6 percent of business plans, which received a positive assessment, cover agriculture, 9.4 percent - services, 6.6 percent - production, 0.4 percent - trade. As the first stage of these works, the process of providing assets in 25 regions continues. Among them 22 participants from 29 over Gabala and Ismayilli regions were provided with assets. 16 of them were provided with goods and materials for animal husbandry, 3 people for beekeeping, 1 person for the creation of an indoor vegetable (greenhouse) farm, 1 for computer repair, publishing and printing services, and the remaining 1 person - for one of the oldest kinds of folk art - copper work. Currently, the self-employment program continues the process of issuing assets to the unemployed and job seekers who have successful business plans. It was noted at the meeting that the self-employment program, by creating family farms for about 1500 unemployed and job-seeking citizens, envisages their self-employment, as well as self-employment of members of their families. The work carried out in this area envisages at the same time the creation of additional jobs, increase in the number of social insurance payers and taxes in the future, expansion of small and medium-sized businesses.
