An educational tour-campaign under the slogan "Learning our country" continues in Gabala.
The members of 5 groups, consisting of Ganja, Gadabey, Goygol, Samukh and Shamkir schoolchildren who take part in the tour-campaign, got acquainted with historical monuments, modern industrial enterprises, tourist, cultural and sports facilities in Gabala on March 17. Schoolchildren, visiting the Heydar Aliyev Center, got acquainted with photographs and documents reflecting the life and political activities of the Great Leader. The next destination for 225 schoolchildren during their acquaintance with Gabala was the "Tufandag" Winter-Summer Tourist Recreation Center. Using the rope way, the pupils viewed the picturesque nature from a height, took photographs for memory. Participants of the tour-campaign, who familiarized with the Congress Center named after Heydar Aliyev, were informed in detail about the center. Then in the Historical and Local History Museum students received information about the history, culture and ethnography of Gabala, being the capital of Caucasian Albania for 900 years. As reported, more than 12 thousand exhibits of historical and scientific significance, reflecting the 2500-year history of Gabala are stored in the main holdings of a museum. The next destination during the acquaintance with Gabala for the participants of the tour-campaign was the "Beltmann" piano factory. Schoolchildren also arrived at the Gabala Canning Factory. The enterprise, located on twelve hectares of the territory, has no analogues in the Caucasus in terms of its production capacity and technological parameters. Then, the pupils with great interest got acquainted with the Albanian-Udi "Chotari" Church in Nij settlement. As reported, from a historical point of view, the church is one of the ancient and significant monuments. The students also visited the Chukhur Gabala Historical and Cultural Reserve, got acquainted with the ruins of the ancient city of Gabala and the results of archaeological excavations conducted on the territory, as well as samples of material culture presented in the Gabala archaeological center. It was said that Gabala, being one of the most ancient cities of Azerbaijan, has a very rich history. At the end of the trip to Gabala, the students got acquainted with the "Gilan" food town, "Qafqaz Riverside", "Qafqaz Resort", "Qafqaz Yeddi Gözəl", "Qafqaz Yengicə Termal Hotel və SPA", and "Qafqaz Karvansaray" five-star hotels, "Qəbələnd" Recreation and Entertainment Center, modern tourist infrastructure created in the region, and the picturesque nature of the region.
