3rd stage of “Tour d’Azerbaidjan-2017” International Bicycle Tour dedicated to 94th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev ended
3rd stage of “Tour d’Azerbaidjan-2017” International Bicycle Tour dedicated to 94th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev ended. Kirill Pozdnyakov, a member of “Synergy Baku” continental club and Elite team of Azerbaijan on the route of 177 km Gabala-Oghuz-Shaki-Oghuz-Gabala of 2.1 bicycle race , involving 22 teams from 18 countries, maintained his leadership in general classification. Matej Mugerli, world-famous Slovenian, a previous member of “Synergy Baku”, riding for “Amplatz BMC” team of Austria became the stage winner– he overcame the distance in 4 hours, 20 minutes, 32 seconds. Note that Matej Mugerli was the winner of this stage in the “Synergy Baku” team last year. Mihkel Raim, the member of “Israel Cycling Academy”, Israil, and Vitaliy Buts, the member of “Kolss” team, Ukraine crossed the finish line at the same time and won the 2nd and 3rd places respectively. As to members of “Synergy Baku”, Kirill Pozdnyakov and Yosip Rumach crossed the finish line in general peloton and took the 14th and 15th places according to photo-finish. This result enabled Kirill Pozdnyakov to maintain his leadership in general classification and he retained his blue “Synergy” t-shirt. Our cyclist is 39 seconds ahead of Oleksandr Polivoda, his nearest follower, the member of “Kolss” team. Mihkel Raim, the member of “Israel Cycling Academy”, scoring more points than others in intermediate sprints achieved to get back his green “SOCAR” T-shirt considered for the best sprinters. Red “AZAL” T-shirt considered for the best mountain biker remained in Vitaliy Buts, the member of “Kolss” team of Ukraine. Felix Intra, the member of "Team Sauerland NRW p/b Henley & Partners" club of Germany was awarded with violet "ATAHOLDİNG" T-shirt as the best cyclist again.
Cyclists were awarded by Sahib Alakbarov, the Vice-President of Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, the member of Head Committee of European Cycling Union, Alexander Gusyatnikov, the Vice President of the European Cycling Union, and Sabuhi Abdullayev, the head of Gabala Region Executive Power.
