The first winner of the World Cup competitions held in Gabala was determined.

The World Cup in Olympic shooting was launched on June 8 in the Gabala region with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the organization of "Gabala" Shooting Club and the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation.
First in the competitions held in the Trap Shooting and Archery Complex in the Bum village of Gabala region, men and women athletes took part shooting with rifles at a distance of 10 meters. In competitions among men, the shooter from Serbia Milutin Stefanovich won the gold, Chinese athlete Yongjong Yao won silver, and Hungary's representative Istvan Peny won a bronze medal. The medals were presented to the athletes by the head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev.
Note that the shooters will compete for 10 sets of medals in the competition, which will last until June 14. Athletes will demonstrate their ability to hit targets shooting with pistols and rifles at the distances of 10, 25 and 50 meters. The greatest number of shooters in Gabala was from China. Along with China, which took part in competitions with thirty athletes, other Asian countries - Japan, India, South Korea and Thailand also presented more than 20 shooters each in the teams for the World Cup. Regarding the European teams, 21 athletes from Germany, 20 athletes from Russia and Poland were competing for the awards. Azerbaijan in this prestigious competition is represented by 10 athletes.
