The 69 th anniversary of Victory over Fascism was celebrated.
On May 9, the event was held in Gabala on the occasion of 69 th anniversary of victory over fascism. At first, the event participants visited the monumental complex erected in the memory of our compatriots died in World War II and put bunches of flowers in front of soldier’s mother monument. Then the event continued at “Qafqaz Sport Hotel”. Executive Power Head Mr.Sabuhi Abdullayev who participated in the event, congratulated war veterans on the occasion of 69th anniversary of victory over fascism and was closely interested in their problems. During his speech, the Executive Power Head pointed out that, up to 700 Azerbaijani fought in World War II, 6 thousand Gabala people struggled bravely and about 3 thousand compatriots who survived returned to the Motherland. The speaker brought to the attention that the historical prowess of Azerbaijani sons who passed through the honourable military path in the front and selflessly strove in the back-front will never be erased from memories and will be a true example of patriotism to young generation. Then the war veterans made a speech in the event, spoke about the front memories. The expressed their gratitude to the head of state Ilham Aliyev for the care and attention taken to the veterans.
In the end, memory gifts were given to the World War II veterans by Region Executive Power.
