International Scout Camp was arranged

“Wonderland 2017-Azerbaijan” International Scout Camp was arranged in Bum settlement of Gabala region by the Association of Scouts of Azerbaijan with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Participants from different regions in Azerbaijan, as well as those from Poland, Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine and Egypt attended the International Camp. At the opening ceremony held in Bum settlement on July 2, the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Anthem of Scouts were performed. Following this, the president of the Association of Scouts of Azerbaijan Ilyas Ismayilli spoke about the history of the initial scout camps arranged in the country. He further stressed that the first “Wonderland” International Scout Camp was organized in Shaki in 2013, with financial support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport. Scouts from all continents of the world gathered in the southern part of Azerbaijan in 2014, while in Gadabay district in 2015 and in Ganja in 2016. Attending the opening ceremony of the International Scout Camp, Deputy Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Arif Allahverdiyev welcomed the participants and wished them success. Responsible employee of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fuad  Babayev and heads of related organizations of the region attended at the event. Moreover, scout camp participants from different age group mentioned that they acquired some skills such as optimizing their perception, putting up the tent etc. by joining the camp. Camp activities were carried out over the pre-planned program according to different age groups. They succeeded in achieving vital skills and knowledge over various program modules, at the same time, participated in the psychological, entertaining and intellectual games and competitions. Thus, it enabled them to receive some features such as leadership, discipline, self-expression and patriotism.
