Gabala - Gyeongju cooperative relations are expanded.
On August 27, 2017 an International Football Tournament has started in Gyeongju city of South Korea among the players aged U-13 under the title of "Gyeongju 2017" attended by 21 teams totally from 12 countries including Azerbaijan, Australia, Japan, France, Vietnam, Brazil, Slovakia, Spain, Korea, China, Thailand and New Zealand. Within the cooperation between Gabala region of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Gyeongju city of South Korea, Abil Aghasafov, the Senior Deputy of the Head of Gabala Region Executive Power led the delegation and football team U-13 of “Gabala” Football Academy being invited by the City Administration of Gyeongju. The delegation was welcomed at Seoul airport and set off to Gyeongju city. The delegation being received by the Mayor of Gyeongju at Congress center became the guest of the City Administration. The Mayor of the city hosted the “red-blacks”, and paid a particular attention to them. Then, the official opening ceremony and presentation of the teams took place in the large hall of the center. Making a speech in the ceremony, city’s Mayor spoke of the cooperative relationship between Gyeongju and Gabala cities, and highly appreciated their relations. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea Ramzi Teymurov also attended the ceremony. The ceremony ended with a concert and a banquet. An official meeting was held on August 28, 2017 in the City Administration Building of Gyeongju. At the meeting organized between the parties, satisfaction was emphasized from the development in the line of ascent of the relations between our countries in the political, economic, cultural and other spheres. Making speech at the meeting, Senior Deputy of the Head of Gabala Region Executive Power Abil Aghasafov brought the greetings of the Head of Region Executive Power Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev to the attention of the meeting participants, stressed the importance of the development of the ties between Gabala and Gyeongju cities which have ancient history, and drew attention to the benefits of expanding bilateral relations in different directions. Furthermore, the ceremony of presenting the prizes was held between the parties. At the meeting, the activity of SEBA (Seoul-Bakı) Azerbaijan-Korea Cultural Exchange Association playing a particular role towards the development of the relations between Gabala region of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Gyeongju city of the Republic of Korea was widely appreciated, and a memorable gift was presented by the City Administration. Within the trip familiarization tour was also organized for our delegation by the City Administration. During the familiarization with the region, our delegation get close acquainted with the historical cultural sites and attractions of Gyeongju city. We would also like to mention that the “red-blacks”, players aged Under 13 of the “Gabala” Football Academy playing in the Group E played 4 matches in the tournament. First our team defeated “Nara” club of Japan - 4:1. Afterwards, meeting with the Spanish "Celta" club and the Korean "Chongyong" club, “Gabala” was defeated 0:2 in both matches. Then our football players won “Ichinomiya” team of Japan 3:2. “Celta” and “Chongyong” collected more points – 9 in the group stage. Despite “Gabala” collected the same point – 6 points – with the “Ichinomiya”, having a better goal difference, Japanese ranked 3. Taking the 4th place in the group, the “red-blacks” met with Thailand's "Vejitto" and Japan's "BBC" clubs in their next matches of the tournament.
