The harvest from the 343 ha vineyard on the territory of Savalan village, Gabala Region was completed. The collected products have been delivered to the "Savalan" plant for processing grapes and producing wine of "ASPI-AGRO" LLC. Along with the production of wine of technical varieties of grapes, the enterprise brought table grapes to the domestic market, and also exported them to Russia on the basis of the contract. Export of grapes from Gabala to the other CIS countries and Europe is aimed for the future. There have been grown grape saplings of technical varieties on the 298 ha, and of table varieties on the 45 hectares area of the plantation site laid out by the enterprise-. In the grape gardens, according to the order of "ASPI-AGRO" LLC, 21 technical varieties of grapes and 14 table grape varieties, imported from Italy and France, were planted. This year, under the guidance of Italian specialists, the saplings of grapes were provided with agro-technical care at a high level, and in comparison with last year, better products were obtained. From this site, 1800 tons were harvested, which is much more than in the previous year. In March of this year the enterprise laid out a new grape garden with an area of 3 hectares, consisting of the varieties "Arinarnoa", "Rebo", "Verdejo" and "Grenache", brought from Italy. And now preparatory work is underway to lay a new garden on an area of 5 hectares, using varieties considered to be more productive for wine production. Due to new varieties of grapes, brought from Italy and France, the company will have wide opportunities to produce competitive wines of an even more diverse assortment, as well as to increase the export of products to the foreign market. It should be noted that at present the plant manufactures 16 kinds of wines under the brand name "Savalan" and most of them are exported to foreign countries. Products of the plant took gold medals at a number of international exhibitions of wines and tastings. To encourage the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand in foreign markets, "Savalan" plant, which participates in all export missions, will present its products to potential buyers next month at a similar event organized in Hong Kong, China.
