Delegation led by mayor of Yokneam city of Israel visited Gabala.

The delegation led by mayor of the Yokneam city of, Israel visited Gabala. The delegation first visited and laid flowers on the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s monument, expressing their respect to the dear memory of the great leader. Afterwards, guests watched the performance of national mugham trio and “Zopu-zopu” ethnographic folklore dance ensemble at Gabala Cultural Center. Getting closely familiar with Gabala region, the guests observed the production process of industrial enterprises in “Gilan” Food Town and watched the production process of enterprise, as well as the packing stage of ready products. Subsequently, the delegation visited Gabala Region “Asan Service” Center. Familiarizing with the administrative building of the Center, the delegation was elaborately informed on work principles of “ASAN Service” Center, including social campaigns and interesting projects being carried out therein. Within the framework of the visit, the guests closely observed the work performance of both employees of and volunteers operating in the “ASAN Service” Center, at the same time, the operation mode of “ASAN payment” terminals. Within the framework of the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the administrative building of Gabala Region Executive Power and Heydar Aliyev Congress Center. Head of Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev gave detailed information to the delegation about the history, economic situation, and socio-cultural status of Gabala at the meeting held at the Congress Center. Sabuhi Abdullayev stressed that the history of Gabala which is rich as much as its nature covers one of the most glorious pages of Azerbaijan. The Head of the Region Executive Power, in detail informing the guests about the ruins, the fortress wall of the ancient Gabala city, the samples of material culture found during the archaeological excavations here, stressed that while Gabala is an attractive tourist region, it also hosts the cultural events and sports competitions of international importance. Head of the delegation from Israel, Mayor of Yokneam Simon Alfassi, in turn, also stressed the importance of their visit. He highly appreciated the relationship between Gabala and Yokneam. The Israeli guest brought to attention that he had witnessed the picturesque beauty that nature presented to the Gabala city. Speaking about the continuation of mutual cooperation in the sphere of culture and tourism, Simon Alfassi noted that this will promote economic cooperation and development of tourism between Yokneam and Gabala. During the meeting, the Mayor of Yokneam Simon Alfassi and the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev signed a "Memorandum on the establishment of relations between the Yokneam city of the State of Israel and the Gabala Region Executive Power of the Republic of Azerbaijan." After the signing ceremony, the parties exchanged memorable gifts. The delegation got acquainted with other industrial enterprises operating in the region, buildings, built in modern architectural style with, historical monuments and tourist sites.
