Participants of the "Learning our country" tour-campaign are in Gabala.
Another enlightening tour-campaign was launched under the title "Learning our country" for pupils of IX-XI grades of cities and regions of our republic by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Members of the groups consisting of students from Bilasuvar, Kurdamir, Hajigabul, Saatli, Sabirabad, Zardab, Ujar, Khojavend, Lachin, Khojaly and Kalbajar, who participated in the tour-campaign along the Gabala-Sheki-Zagatala route, arrived in Gabala region at noon on November 11. In Gabala city, the students were met by the representatives of the Region Executive Power and the Education Department in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center. After lunch, students, who were accommodated in "Qafqaz Karvansaray" and "Qafqaz Sport" Hotels of the region, started to get acquainted with Gabala. In accordance with the program, the tree planting campaign was held first on the bank of Demiraparan river under the slogan "Learning our country" with the participation of a total of 440 students and teachers accompanying them. During the greening campaign, initiated by the IDEA Public Association, with the organizational support of the Gabala Region Executive Power, schoolchildren planted and watered more than 400 spruce, maples and oaks. Then during the walk the students were given detailed information about the significance of this educational tour, which will be organized along the Gabala-Shaki-Zagatala route. As reported, according to the program of the tour-campaign, they will get acquainted with the work carried out in the field of social and economic development of the region, social facilities built in recent years, recreation and entertainment centers, historic cultural monuments, tourist sites, and museums. Afterwards, the students visited Nohur lake. The schoolchildren who went for a walk around the lake, located in the depths of a forest on the mountainous terrain, were photographed as a memento. As reported, the length of the lake, located at 700 meters above sea level, is 1,925 meters, width -1355 meters, area - 240 hectares. The depth of the lake is 24 meters, and the water volume is 16 million cubic meters. Demirparan and Vandam rivers flow into Nohur lake. As part of the tour, the students got familiar with the "Zoo" in the Yengija village of the region. Then a concert program was presented for the participants of the campaign in the Cultural Center of Gabala. In the course of an interesting concert program, folk and composer songs, ashiq music were performed, and the dances were demonstrated to the accompaniment of national music.
