A conference devoted to our national and spiritual values was held.

The conference on “Role of Youth in the protection of our national and spiritual values” was held at the joint initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Gabala Region Executive Power. Initially, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed at the event organized at the conference hall of “Qafqaz Resort” Hotel. Opening the conference, the Head of Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev stressed in his speech that the protection and development of our national and spiritual values are connected with the name of Heydar Aliyev, and that the national revival of our people was developed within the period under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev in the Republic of Azerbaijan, who primarily focused on the return to our national values and our ancestry, and the re-awakening of our national feelings. Sabuhi Abdullayev further stated that today huge and responsible tasks are incumbent on the independent Azerbaijani youth in regard with the realization of the national leader’s wills and ideas, and that the youth who is the future of the nation is regarded as the most promising social stratum of the community. He mentioned that today receiving the exemplary education, decently representing our country in the international arena, being formed as highly intelligent, modern and real citizen are the key target for the modern youth. The Head of the Region Executive Power mentioned that the national leader Heydar Aliyev regarded our national values as essential attribute of not only our nationality, but also our political existence, namely state-building process, and therefore, our national leader signed many orders and decrees aimed at the enhancement of the youth’s role in the state-building process, and that the “Youth Policy” Programme was approved under Decree dated July 29, 1999 issued by Heydar Aliyev. Furthermore, the Head of the Region Executive Power outlined that the state youth policy once developed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully carried out by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in recent times, that the Azerbaijani young people are able to prove themselves in all fields where they function, they take an active position in the process of forming national and spiritual values as a system, and implement large-scale actions with a view to maintain the said values and pass on them to the next generations. He further mentioned that the main line of the State Program" Azerbaijan Youth in 2017-2021" adopted by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev serves the purposes of instilling the sense of high humanism into youth, and increasing their intellectual capacity. Afterwards, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Intigam Babayev mentioned in his speech that the young generation preceding the globalization movement, as well as the cultural integration and the process of adherence to the ancestry to maintain, improve and comply with our national traditions and spiritual values that have been passed down to us historically. Intigam Babayev also brought to attention that protecting our national and spiritual values and passing on them to the younger generation are of great importance at a time when Azerbaijan confidently moves forward on the path of independence, and continues to build democratic, legal, civil and open society, and that every nation identifies the historical development and evolutionary process through the rich national and spiritual heritage and high values, besides the statehood traditions. Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Gunduz Ismayilov stated that the multiculturalism and tolerance being the basic principles of the ideology of Azerbaijanism created by the national leader Heydar Aliyev is, as a matter of fact, the lifestyle of the Azerbaijani people, and that the multiculturalism and tolerance traditions have been strengthened thanks to the wise policy carried out by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev with respect to preserving and improving the said spiritual values. The imam of Gabala “Juma Mosque” Saleh Shirinov, the Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Youth and Sport Nuraddin Mehdiyev, Chairman of the National Council of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Seymur Huseynov, Chairman of the NAP Youth Union of Gabala region Namig Aghayev, the Yengija village full secondary school teacher Gunay Jalilova, and the employee of ASAN Service Shabnam Narimanli made a speech around the subject at the conference. Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Intigam Babayev concluded the conference. In the end, the film “Shahadat”, dedicated to the martyrs' memory who sacrificed their lives for our sovereignty and territorial integrity, was shown.
