Last year was successful for the development of fruit-growing, vegetable-growing and grain-growing in Gabala.
Peasant farmers and individual farm owners who earn satisfactory income from the sale of products of grain-growing, fruit-growing and vegetable-growing, which form the basis of the economy in Gabala region, have aimed to develop these fields even more year by year. Experts believe that 2017 was a successful year for Gabala landowners. So, villagers also have achieved plenty of crops in comparison with the previous years, along with expanding planting areas in 2017. The harvest of agricultural products in Gabala was completed in a timely manner and without any loss in 2017. Last year, 64 thousand 597 tons of grain was harvested from the area of 21 thousand 47 hectares. For crops of current year grain seeds were sown in the area of 20 thousand 100 hectares in the region. Last year, 3 thousand 65 tons of corn was harvested from the area of 1598 hectares, 116 tons of gourds from the area of 8 hectares, 7 thousand 600 tons of vegetables from the area of 854 hectares and 12 thousand 260 tons of potatoes from the area of 613 hectares in Gabala. Last year, gardeners harvested 2065 tons of products from the vineyard of 365 hectares and 13 thousand 527 tons from the orchard of 6 thousand 198 hectares. Last year, 7300 tons of products were harvested from hazelnut field of 4684 hectares. Within the last 3 months, a new hazelnut field was planted in the area of 314 hectares in Gabala. The results obtained from all fields are significantly higher than the figures of the previous years.
