The results of the socio-economic development of 2017 and the challenges ahead were discussed at the reporting meeting in Gabala region.

A report meeting dedicated to the the results of the socio-economic development of 2017 and to the tasks to be carried out in 2018 was held in the Gabala region. First, the event participants visited the Heydar Aliyev Park and laid fresh cut flowers at the monument of the National Leader. Then the reporting meeting started in the Gabala Culture Center. Opening the meeting, the Head of the Region Executive Power, Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev, gave a detailed report on the works done in the socio-economic sphere in the Gabala region in 2017. It was noted that during the past year in various fields of the economy the products worth 220.924 thousand AZN were produced, compared to the same period of the previous year, the gross output in the region was 17.188 thousand AZN, or increased by 8.4%. In comparison with the same period of 2016, the product output increased in the industry by 7.771 thousand AZN, or 29.9%, in agriculture by 2.007 thousand AZN, or 3.0%, in the transport sector by 181.0 thousand AZN, or 4.9%, in trade by 4.560,0 thousand AZN, or 16.5%, in the communication by 51.0 thousand AZN, or 4.8%, in construction by 2618,0 thousand AZN, or 3.3%. At this period, the gross output per head amounted to 2.094 AZN. During the year, the average monthly nominal wage of 1.397 employees was 336 AZN. The size of the investments directed to capital stock amounted to 82.690,0 thousand AZN, and the size of construction works amounted to 81.225,0 thousand AZN. From October 2003 to January 1, 2018 16.706 new vacancies were created, 14.907 of which are permanent. The number of new vacancies created during the year was 1.641, which are all permanent. According to the results of 2017 local incomes of the region amounted to 13.317,0 thousand AZN, contrary to forecasted 13.396,6 thousand AZN (100.6%), that is 79.6 thousand AZN more. Part of the income related to the centralized incomes amounted to 6.462,0 thousand AZN, contrary to forecasted 6.650,9 thousand AZN (102.9%) that is 188,9 thousand AZN more. It was noted that with provision of 1.554 new consumers with natural gas during the year, the number of consumers among the population reached 18.097. According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated on December 15, 2015 "On additional measures to improve the provision of irrigation water to cultivated areas and to meet the population's need for potable water", in 2016 three sub-artesian wells were drilled in the Gabala region (in Gabala city, Vandam settlement, Zirik village), according to the Order dated on July 1, 2016, 3 sub-artesian wells were drilled (in Mykhlygovag , Zaragan, and Melikli villages) and were put in commission in last August. It was brought to the attention that, like every year, building works continued in the region last year. After the completion of the construction works in the buildings of the Gabala Region Court, the Region Agricultural Department, Gabala Professional Training Center, Gabala Carpet Factory, and, the mentioned facilities were put in commission. It was noted that after the general repair of the full secondary school of Aydingishlag village and the kindergarten of Tikanli village, and also after the construction of modular buildings in the full secondary school of Jigatelli village and the general secondary school of Seidgishlag village, they were put in commission. Besides that, construction works were continued in "Qafqaz Aqua Land Hotel", "Qafqaz Diamond Akvapark", "Cidir" Equestrian Center, in the buildings of the Region Department of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, the Region Prosecutor's Office and the Customs Academy. Among the participants of the meeting Head of the Gabala Region Financial Department Namig Aghayev, Director of the Gabala Region SSPF (State Social Protection Fund) Elchin Aliyev, the Azerbaijani language teacher of the Gabala Secondary School No.3 Sabina Zeynalova, the English language teacher of the Gabala Tourism and Hotel Business Vocational Training Center Firuza Mammadova talked about the successes, achieved in their field of activity. Then the chairperson of the Republic Council of Elders, Milli Majlis MP Fattah Heydarov noted that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev attached great significance to the development of the regions of Azerbaijan and this policy is successfully carried out by the President Ilham Aliyev. Speaking about the comprehensive development of the Republic it was noted at the meeting that thanks to the instructions and recommendations of the President Ilham Aliyev, the improvement and construction works are carried out in the Gabala region, as everywhere. Roads are being repaired, new educational and health facilities are being built, reconstruction works are being undertaken in the electric and gas sector industries. All this serves for improving the welfare of the population day by day, their social status and living conditions. The representative of the Presidential Administration Rufat Aliyev, speaking at the meeting, gave detailed information on the work done and achievements of 2017. According to the recommendations and instructions of the Head of State, the forthcoming tasks were analyzed at the meeting, an appropriate decision was made to ensure the implementation of the forthcoming tasks, and an appeal was addressed to the Head of State Mr. Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the meeting participants. According to the Order No. 3531 dated on December 21, 2017 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on awarding people for the merits in the development of agriculture in the Azerbaijan Republic, Aghasiyev Chingiz Sabir was awarded the Order of Labor of the third degree, and the group of persons who distinguished themselves in social-economic development of the region were presented with certificates of honor and valuable gifts.
