A commemoration event marking the 103rd anniversary of prominent scientist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva took place.
Complete secondary school No. 5 named after Shirvan Bulgadirov hosted a commemorative event on April 28, 2026, marking the 103rd anniversary of the birth of prominent ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva. Participants first laid flowers in front of the bust of prominent ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva, paying tribute to the academician’s memory.The event at Complete secondary school No. 5 named after Shirvan Bulgadirov commenced with a minute of silence in tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland. In their speeches, participants emphasized that the outstanding scientific achievements of academician Zarifa Aliyeva constitute a distinct milestone in the history of Azerbaijani medical science, and that her honorable life journey serves as a lesson in morality and life values, as well as a model of excellence and wisdom for every Azerbaijani citizen, scientist, and physician. Participants at the event highlighted that Zarifa Aliyeva elevated Azerbaijani ophthalmology to the level of the international scientific community within world medicine, and spoke about her scientific and pedagogical activity, her role in training highly qualified young researchers, her invaluable contributions to the progress and enlightenment of her people, as well as her rich moral values.During the event, students performed poems dedicated to the rich and multifaceted life philosophy of Zarifa Aliyeva and presented literary and artistic compositions. The event concluded with a video presentation highlighting the life and professional activity of the academician, which was watched with great interest by participants.
