A commemorative event dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held in the Gabala Region
On May 8, 2026, a conference dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was organized by the Gabala Region Executive Power. The conference opened with the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the occupied territories. Opening the conference, the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, spoke about the exceptional contributions of genius leader Heydar Aliyev, regarded as the savior of the Azerbaijani people, to the strengthening of state independence. He highlighted the measures carried out under his leadership, as well as the economic reforms and ideological foundations he established. He also noted that the domestic and foreign policy course, along with the state-building strategy of the National Leader, is being successfully continued and further developed with new dimensions by President Ilham Aliyev today. The Deputy Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, Ataya Osmanova, addressed the event and provided information on the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the Azerbaijani state. She spoke about the large-scale projects implemented under his leadership, as well as the significance of the Great Leader’s visits to the Gabala region. Speaking next, the Deputy Chairman of the Gabala Region Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, Anar Shirinov, spoke about the establishment of the New Azerbaijan Party with the aim of uniting a nation that was facing the threat of losing its independence. He also highlighted the achievements gained by the party under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev and noted that these traditions are being continued today. At the end, the Head of the Region Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, underlined the importance of promoting and disseminating Heydar Aliyev’s legacy for the education and enlightenment of adolescents and youth, and wished success to everyone involved in this work.
