A commemorative event titled “In the Light of an Elegant Legacy”, dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of prominent ophthalmologist, honored scientist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, was held at the Gabala Region Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party. Participants first laid floral tributes at the bust of prominent ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva, honoring the academician’s memory with deep respect. The event held at the Gabala Region Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party continued with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, prominent ophthalmologist-scientist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. In his remarks, Chairman of the Gabala Region Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, Abil Aghasafov, spoke about Zarifa Aliyeva’s exceptional contributions to Azerbaijani science and her rich, humanistic legacy, noting that her care and attentiveness toward people formed an essential part of her personality. Speakers emphasized the societal significance of academician Zarifa Aliyeva’s life journey, scientific achievements, and strong moral character, noting that her rich legacy will remain a lasting source of inspiration and a guiding example for future generations. The event concluded with the screening of a video highlighting the life and work of the prominent academician.
