A district-wide event was held in connection with November 8 - "Victory Day"
In the Gabala region, a large-scale event was organized in connection with November 8 - "Victory Day". At the start of the event, participants visit the Martyrs’ Alley, dedicated to the memory of heroes who sacrificed their lives in the First Karabakh and Patriotic Wars, placing bouquets on the graves and before the memorial plaques. At the conference attended by representatives of the Gabala Region Executive Power, law enforcement agencies, administration, enterprises and organizations, intellectuals, elders, and the local community, the event opened with the playing of the State Anthem of Azerbaijan, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our lands from occupation. At the event, the head of the region executive power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, spoke about how the army-building strategy set by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev has been successfully carried forward today by President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized the determination and victory of the army and people united as an “iron fist" with president's call, prayed for mercy on the martyrs, extended condolences to their families, and wished good health to the veterans. Abil Aghasafov, Head of the Gabala District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), extended his congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan on the holiday and stated that the Azerbaijani Army played an exceptional role for the historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, stressing that the bravery of our people will forever be remembered. The parents of the martyrs - Elmira Abdurahmanova, Jalil Safarchinov and Ofelya Salmanova, wife of Polad Hashimov, National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan addressing the audience, highlighted the bravery of the Azerbaijani soldiers and officers during the war and conveyed their deep appreciation to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as well as to First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, for their constant attention and support. At the end of the event, students of complete secondary school No. 5 presented a poetry composition dedicated to the "Victory Day".
