Addressing the meeting, Sabuhi Abdullayev, Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, noted that in his keynote address at the 8th Congress, held on October 2, 2026, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairperson of the New Azerbaijan Party Ilham Aliyev had offered both a review of the past and a political and strategic vision for the future. He had also outlined the main directions of the national security and development framework and identified the key tasks facing the country. Emphasizing the special significance of the Congress as the first to be held following the full restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty, he stated that the main priorities for the coming period were to preserve the achievements made, continue the country's development, further strengthen its independence and protect society from ideological threats. The Head of the Executive Power spoke about the achievements in the socio-economic sphere at both the national and regional levels, the projects being implemented, and the measures needed to preserve the country's spiritual values. He also addressed the proper organization of ideological work and the responsibilities assigned to various institutions in this area.
Speakers at the meeting emphasized the significance of the 8th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party and noted that external centres were currently seeking to influence citizens, particularly children and young people, through harmful ideological propaganda disseminated via the media and social media platforms. In this regard, they stressed that everyone must remain vigilant, make their voice heard and not remain indifferent.
Concluding the meeting, Sabuhi Abdullayev, Head of the Region Executive Power, urged everyone to act responsibly and attentively in addressing the issues raised by the country's leader at the Congress and fulfilling the tasks set, and wished them success.
