A seminar on “Protecting the Health of Children and Adolescents” was held in the Gabala region
A seminar on “Protecting the Health of Children and Adolescents” took place on October 21, 2026 at Secondary School No. 5 in Gabala city. The event was organised jointly by the Republican Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Gabala Region Executive Power, and the Education Sector for the Gabala region. The seminar brought together teachers from preschool and general education institutions, healthcare workers, and paediatricians from the regions of Gabala, Oghuz, Shaki, Gakh, Zagatala, and Balakan. During the seminar, speakers provided detailed information on mandatory medical examinations of children, reducing cases of worm infestations, the importance of vaccination among children, compliance with personal hygiene rules, unified standards for the construction and material and technical provision of educational institutions, injury prevention among schoolchildren, and the implementation of preventive measures to combat drug addiction, alcoholism, and the use of tobacco products. At the meeting, held to safeguard schoolchildren’s health and ensure a stable sanitary and epidemiological environment, specialists answered participants’ questions, followed by an extensive exchange of views on the topics discussed. At the end of the seminar, participants received educational brochures and visual awareness materials prepared by the Republican Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology on the topics “How Do Infections Spread?”, “Flu”, “Monkeypox” and “The Effects on Others (Passive Smoking)”.
