A traditional Novruz celebration was held in Gabala.
On the occasion of Novruz, a regioncelebration was held in Gabala. At the ceremony, the event was attended by Member of Parliament Elshan Musayev, Head of the Gabalа Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, staff of various departments, institutions and organizations, elders, family members of martyrs, war veterans, disabled veterans, representatives of the region executive power, as well as guests of the city. At the event, Head of the Gabalа Region Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, noted that the social and economic development in our country, including in Gabala region, which was initiated by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, is today being successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. He also highlighted that the Novruz and Ramadan holidays, reflecting the full richness of our history and heritage, have been celebrated on the same day in Azerbaijan for six consecutive years as a victorious people. He congratulated the participants of the celebration and all residents of Gabala on the occasion of the holidays and extended his best wishes.Member of Parliament Elshan Musayev, speaking at the event, noted that this year in Gabala the Novruz and Ramadan holidays coincide, which holds special spiritual significance for our people. He emphasized that these two important occasions further strengthen unity and solidarity in our society, and congratulated all residents of Gabala on the holidays. Arriving at the holiday event by carriage, “Dada Gorgud,” a symbol of wisdom and elderhood, and “Bahar Gizi,” the herald of spring, lit the holiday bonfire. They congratulated the participants, wished our people abundance, prosperity, and peace, and on this joyful day called the community to unity and solidarity. Later, attendees visited an exhibition featuring handicrafts by local artisans, decorative arts and paintings, industrial and food products produced in Gabala’s processing enterprises, holiday sweets, and Novruz trays. The exhibition showcasing our centuries-old ethnographic and national heritage and ancient traditions drew great interest from the attendees. At the theatrical celebration reviving our ancient traditions, the main characters of Novruz, Kosa and Kechal, along with the ethnographic folklore groups “Zopu-Zopu,” “Gulbuta,” and “Gulustan,” delivered engaging performances that created a joyful atmosphere for the audience. The celebration, adorned with Novruz symbols, continued with a concert program.
