A volleyball tournament was held on the occasion of June 15 – National Salvation Day.
On June 12, 2025, in celebration of National Salvation Day, the final match of a volleyball tournament organized by the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation took place, featuring the under -16 girls' and boys' teams of the Oghuz Regional Volleyball Club. At the closing ceremony held after the final matches of the volleyball tournament that took place from June 8 to 12, the Head of the Gabala District Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, emphasized that the youth policy and support for sports, originally initiated by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, are being successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev. He expressed his gratitude to the relevant organizations for holding the tournament in Gabala and wished success to the athletes. President of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation, Shahin Baghirov, delivered a speech in which he congratulated the winning teams, as well as the athletes of the Oguz Regional Volleyball Club’s U16 boys’ team, who became the champions of the first-ever Azerbaijani championship held among juniors. He also shared his recommendations for their development as professional volleyball players. At the end of the event, the organizers presented diplomas, medals, and trophies to the members of the winning teams.
