An event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in Gabala
On February 26, 2026, in connection with the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, the leadership of the Gabala Region Executive Power, representatives of law enforcement agencies, heads of departments, enterprises and organizations, residents of Khojaly temporarily settled in the region, as well as members of the public visited the Alley of Martyrs Complex of the Gabala Region and laid flowers at the graves. In his speech, Head of the Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev emphasized that after the return to power of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, this tragedy was given a political and legal assessment, and that under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army liberated our lands that had been under occupation, including Khojaly, and that construction and restoration works are being carried out in those territories. He noted that the resettlement of internally displaced persons, including residents of Khojaly, to their native lands is already underway and congratulated them on this occasion. Speaking at the event, Khojaly resident Kamal Mammadov noted that after the liberation of Khojaly this day is commemorated in a different spirit, that they are eagerly awaiting the day of return to their native lands, and expressed gratitude to the country’s leadership for the attention and care shown to them.
