An event was held on the occasion of 18 April – the International Day for Monuments and Sites
At the initiative of the Gabala Region Local History Museum, an event entitled “Let Us Get to Know and Protect Our Historical Monuments” was organized to mark the International Day for Monuments and Sites – 18 April. Speakers at the event noted that Azerbaijan is one of the territories reflecting the ancient history of the emergence of human civilization, which is once again confirmed by archaeological excavations. All archaeological evidence indicates that the complex and honorable path traversed by the people who lived on the territory of Azerbaijan has left a profound imprint in the form of ancient settlements and numerous monuments. Within the framework of declaring 2026 the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, all historical monuments located across the country are once again brought into focus, and significant efforts are being undertaken to preserve the traditions of architectural culture. These monuments, having survived to the present day, are currently protected as highly valuable examples. As part of the event, detailed information was provided on the historical monuments located in the Gabala region, and video materials were presented.
