Awareness-raising event held to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
On June 30, 2026, the Gabala Region Heydar Aliyev Center hosted an awareness-raising event dedicated to June 26 – the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event was organized on the initiative of the State Commission for Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking and the Gabala Region Executive Power. The event was also attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, government departments, enterprises and organizations, as well as non-governmental organizations and civil society institutions. Opening the event with welcoming remarks, Parvin Panahov, Head of the Legal and Human Resources Sector of the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, welcomed the participants and spoke about the measures being implemented by the state to combat drug addiction. Vasif Guliyev, a member of the Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, held a comprehensive awareness session with young people on the topic and provided information about the Commission’s activities. The event continued in the form of an open discussion.
