“Baku–Naples: A Musical Bridge” chamber evening held at Winter Tale Festival
As part of the festival held in Gabala, a chamber music evening titled "Baku–Naples: A Musical Bridge", symbolizing the friendship between Azerbaijan and Italy, took place on February 7. The concert took place at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center with the participation of festival organizers, local music lovers and guests of the city. Before the concert, Zahra Guliyeva, People’s Artist and professor at the Uzeyir Hajibeyli Baku Music Academy, delivered a speech in which she noted that the program included works in the romance genre by Azerbaijani and Italian composers and briefly spoke about the characteristics of this genre. The concert program featured V.Bellini’s romance "Malinconia", as well as "Longing" and "Where are you" by Said Rustamov, "Arise, Nightingale" by Sevda Ibrahimova, "I am from Baku", "Lyric song", "I Became Happy" and "Golden ring" by Tofig Guliyev, "Carnation" and "Song about Baku" by Vasif Adigozalov, and "Cheerful Azerbaijan" by Polad Bulbuloghlu. The audience also enjoyed "Dicitencello vuje" by R. Falvo, the Neapolitan song "Catari" by S. Cardillo, two romances by F. Tosti, and "Parlami D amore, Mariu" by C. Bixio. Performances by People’s Artists Farhad Badalbeyli and Murad Adigozalzade (piano), Honored Artist Emil Afrasiyab (piano), and soloists Afag Abbasova (soprano), Aytaj Shikhalizade (mezzo-soprano), Azer Zade (tenor), Mahir Taghizade (bariton) and Aysun Mahmudova (soprano) were warmly received.
